President Grant’s Tomb
Riverside Drive and West 122nd St
New York
It’s also known as General Grant National Memorial – Upon his death in 1885, his wife Julia revealed that he wished to be buried in New York. Hers is beside his. It also reminds me of Napoleon’s at Les Invalides in Paris. In spite of size and all, I feel they’re equally dignified and grand.
This old photo was dedication of his tomb in 1897
