Germany, 2022

One of the European trips that I stayed with in a single country – Germany only, from April 25 to May 12.

It’s my research trip.

Initially I planed to include Turkey but cancelled at the last second. With the transatlantic Lufthansa ticket already purchased, I opted to spend more time in Germany instead, visiting and meeting up friends too.

Some of the trips made redundant train ride, unfortunately. But I generally enjoy train … so it’s ok.

My itinerary

  1. 4.25 Frankfurt
  2. 4.27 Darmstade
  3. 4.28 Boppard
  4. 4.28 Koblenz
  5. 4.29 – 5.02 Essen
  6. May 2-7 Baden Baden
  7. May 6 Freiburg im Breisgau
  8. May 7-9 Berlin: Potsdam
  9. May 9-12 Leipzig

Why free train in the summer

Lufthansa 汉莎航空 in 2022

There are many Orthodox Jews on the flight fm JFK.

Germany’s premier air carrier, is the second-largest airline in Europe. Headquarter is in Cologne but the hub is in Ffa – Frankfurt (Google Maps unpublished).

This time around, I find them inadequate in a few instances, both ways. Dirty bathroom, and the cups inserted incorrectly.

Boarding: it’s bit chaotic as if they’re doing it for the first time. Everyone is at the gate when all other airlines would announce group by group, to keep the front gate relatively empty,  manageable – always from the last rows, after the first class. Luft how ever, does it differently, from the front rows.

Cover up area: there is a dark curtain covers a last few rows to the right of the plane for the flight attendants. Is it really necessary, when the transatlantic flight is about 7 hours.

Getting off the aircraft: this is a killer – both gates the plane parked have stairs. I’m not sure how could this even possible, and how did it happen, for Lufthansa is a major airline, and JFK & FRA are major airports.

Germany seems on a steady slid … the past few times, there were always something broken in the airport (FRA), the escalators are the most obvious.
